All Ages – Minecraft Club
This is a student and parent-hosted session for members of all ages to chat online, play and create in The Network World!
If you have Minecraft Java please join in the fun. The Java server runs only on Sat between 4-6 pm PT.
Log in details are provided when you register for the event.
The setting will be ‘Creative’.
Launchers:
We only support connections via official Minecraft launchers and official Minecraft accounts. We cannot support third-party launchers like TLauncher, or hacked clients.
Mods:
We do not support Forge mods at this time. We can support Bukkit, Spigot, and Paper mods on the java server, provided the server owner agrees to install them.

@JoanneJ – We only have Minecraft on an android tablet currently. Dug a old Odroid XU4 out of the closet, fabricated a power supply, burned an Ubuntu operating system onto the SD card, Maybe we’ll be able to join you guys if I can get Minecraft Java onto this thing by 1pm PST lol…. (multitasking at the moment…)

Whoops, turns out Minecraft Java edition is only supported on 64bit systems…. On the bright side I guess I have another mini computer set up for something. I guess it’s time to 3D print a case for it….

Java server update:
We upgraded the java server to a high performance build (still the same version) and added the Worldguard plugin to reduce the opportunities for griefing or accidentally damaging features that we want to be permanent. This will reduce server latency (lagging) and allow us to protect participants’ work.
Bedrock server update:
Some users were unable to connect last Saturday, particularly from Nintendo devices. There is an ongoing situation that is continuing to affect major network operators (Microsoft, Cisco, Amazon, etc) across the internet that started September 30: the very first master SSL certificate, issued back in 1980, expired on September 30. With it, all SSL certificates that were ultimately composed under its trust chain also expired. Until affected devices are updated with new certificates, SSL traffic between affected services will remain interrupted.
Hello! I am wondering which version of Minecraft the server supports.
Bedrock and Java 🙂
In Bedrock, we are running the latest release (1.17.40 as of this writing). When Microsoft pushes out updates to the client side, we have to update our server.
In Java, we are running version 17.1. We recently upgraded from a vanilla server to “paper”, which resolves lagging issues and has allowed us to add plugins for world editing, anti-griefing, etc.
Java Server Update:
We have added high speed underground (and under water) rail lines between The Sandbox and The Library.

Just a reminder to everyone, there is no formal Minecraft session November 6 due to some family commitments.
The Bedrock world is open for free play.
We will resume session November 13, with both java and Bedrock worlds being open.
What happens when you lay down a stack of 1,000,000 blocks of TNT in front of boys? No one admits to setting it off, but it took 3 hours for the explosions to finish!
This week we’ll take a 10 minute look under the covers in the Minecraft java code to see why setting off that much TNT at one time caused the entire server to lag.

Yay!!! Sundays are my favourite because of this but I have to wake up at seven and my eyes burns whenever I look at the screen, oh well lol.
