    Research shows that there are two contributing factors in student boredom:

    1. Lack of relevance of the content to their lives

    2. Lack of a relationship with the student

    One can compensate for the other, but when you have both, students are engaged.

    My take on it is what we’re realizing is that society has a bias toward extroverts.

    What I mean is that while students who crave in-person interaction are suffering, introverts have been thriving!

    I’d like to facilitate a conversation about what we’ve discovered about student learning through the pandemic.

    I’ve incorporated mindfulness exercises into my class culture.

    I find it deepens my relationships with my students and keeps me grounded.

    I love “Of Mice and Men” and any Shakespearian tragedy.

    My favorite genre is a tie between self-help and organizational development.
