Soil – a topic for kids
Posted by Kate on May 9, 2022 at 12:17 pmHow do we raise these topics with our kids, in a way that empowers them to part of positive change? @Sudhaa do you have any ideas? https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/may/07/secret-world-beneath-our-feet-mind-blowing-key-to-planets-future?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

I had recently shown my kids about the rock cycle and it was fun to see them process the fact that all of this “stuff” is just moved around and transformed. Maybe showing kids through books, videos, documentaries and outdoor exploration will help them understanding soil and nature better. When kids understand things, they seem to grow a sort of a connection to it. Do kids not care about what’s underneath their feet because they don’t know how complex it is and how it impacts them?
